Teknocraft were an IT Services provider based in Bristol, UK. They provided my first opportunity in Software Engineering on my graduation from the University of Bristol. We provided development services to a number of clients, but most of my work was centered on the client described below.

A Security Services Provider ^_(2003-2009)

Initial development role in a team of 3-4 developers working on CCTV video software used by British Airways and TfL. These were C++ MFC Windows applications that utilized analogue video capture cards to provide live stream views (local & remote) and recording features for large volumes of security cameras. Implemented features relating to: time-lapse recording with FIFO archiving; zonal event-based recording; manual and automated obfuscation; object-recognition; integration with alarm panels, PIR, access control; IP Cameras; PTZ etc. Much of this work involved gaining deep knowledge of DirectShow filters, compression codecs and encryption. We also gradually migrated application components to .NET Framework where beneficial.
